Dad has been dead for 20 years, but on the 30th of June, Mom and Dad would have been married for 60 years. While there is really no way to celebrate it, I can try to recreate it in my mind. I only wish that I had brought up the topic while he was still alive. It would have been so easy to turn on a tape recorder and have the two of them tell me about the day. Mom... is still with us, but I'm a little nervous about bringing up the topic in case it upsets her. :( I do have a tape of Dad describing his childhood though and it is priceless. I really should do the same with mom!! It's always one of those things you put off until it's too late! Definitely putting it on my to-do list this year!!
If you haven't done so... do it! There is nothing like listening to the words of a loved one to have him in the room with you again for a few minutes!
