A Quote About Life's Little Joys

Watch the sunrise at least once a year, put a lot of marshmallows in your hot chocolate, lie on your back and look at the stars, never buy a coffee table you can't put your feet on, never pass up a chance to jump on a trampoline, don't overlook life's small joys while searching for the big ones.
Jackson Brown

"Think joy, talk joy, practice joy, share joy, saturate your mind with joy, and you will have the time of your life today and every day all your life." Norman Vincent Peale

"Despite knowing the value and joy of giving to others, many people are at a loss on how to go about it. Some mistakenly think that only those with money are the only ones who can give."
John Michaels,

We find greatest joy, not in getting, but in expressing what we are... Men do not really live for honors or for pay; their gladness is not the taking and holding, but in doing, the striving, the building, the living. It is a higher joy to teach than to be taught. It is good to get justice, but better to do it; fun to have things but more to make them. The happy man is he who lives the life of love, not for the honors it may bring, but for the life itself.
R.J. Baughan

"Did you know...that when you walk past a flower, whether it be in
somebody's garden or on a vacant hillside, the flower will always smile at you. The most polite way to respond, I've been told, is to cheerfully return the smile."
Ron Atchison

In choosing joy, the finish line dissolves
into a different matter altogether.
Mary Anne Radmacher

Trust in the Light.
Darkness is not a force -
it is merely the absence of light.
Observe that when a light is brought to a dark place,
the darkness disappears.
Sadness is similar -
when joy is brought to suffering,
the sadness disappears.
Open yourself to the Light!
Hold back nothing,
Trust in the Light.
Jonathan Lockwood Huie

“Laughter is wine for the soul - laughter soft, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness - the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living.”
Seán O'Casey

“Man can never know the loneliness a woman knows. Man lies in the woman's womb only to gather strength, he nourishes himself from this fusion, and then he rises and goes into the world, into his work, into battle, into art. He is not lonely. He is busy. The memory of the swim in amniotic fluid gives him energy, completion. Woman may be busy too, but she feels empty. Sensuality for her is not only a wave of pleasure in which she is bathed, and a charge of electric joy at contact with another. When man lies in her womb, she is fulfilled, each act of love a taking of man within her, an act of birth and rebirth, of child rearing and man bearing. Man lies in her womb and is reborn each time anew with a desire to act, to be. But for woman, the climax is not in the birth, but in the moment man rests inside of her.”

Is a person born joyful do you think?

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon...
My sister's middle name is Joy and I don't think that there is a lot that gets her down. In fact she is one of the strongest women I know! Whether your name affects you or not, I'm not sure, but it seems to in her case. What do you think. I'm just glad that my middle name isn't misery-guts!

What are my plans for this afternoon?  I am in the middle of the second reading of Outlander. If Claire can handle all of her problems, I can too!

I have read the entire series and waiting with baited breath for her new one.  I borrowed them all from our local library, but I have a feeling that there is going to be a long waiting list for her new one!!

A Quote About Joy

‎"We all need joy, and we can all receive joy in only one way, by adding to the joy of others. "

Eknath Easwaran

*Can you think of just one thing that you could do to add joy to someone else's life?

May Your Joys

“May your joys be as bright as the morning, and your sorrows merely be shadows that fade in the sunlight of love. May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet, enough trials to keep you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to keep you happy”
Irish Blessings
