Summer Quotes
I question not if thrushes sing,
If roses load the air;
Beyond my heart I need not reach
When all is summer there.
John Vance Cheney

A Quote for an October Morning

And before they are buried in snow,
There comes a festival season
When nature is all aglow.'

I'm hoping for a lot more days of "glowing" nature! The weather is calling for snow, but Mother Nature is holding off thank goodness!

The sweetest joy, the wildest woe is love
Philip James Bailey

A Quote about Summer Idleness

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."

Quotes about a Flower's Feelings, Madness and More

Perfumes are the feelings of flowers.
Heinrich Heine
People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.
Iris Murdoch
When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other.
Chinese Proverb
This very moment is a seed from which the flowers of tomorrow's happiness grow.”
Margaret Lindsey
“See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls.”
Mother Teresa of Calcutta
The Amen of nature is always a flower.
Oliver Wendell Holmes
What thoughts spring to mind when you think of your favorite flower?? The first thing that I thought of are all of those gorgeous little Indian Paintbrushes that grew on my grandmother's property when I was a kid! I don't know if I liked the name of the flower or the tiny blossoms themselves! Now it's your turn... what flower do you remember from your childhood?

It's Time for a New Scent
*I was just thinking this morning that for some reason my perfume just isn't working for me. And then it occurred to me. I have been wearing the same scent all winter long and the spiciness worked. Now, not so much. It's just too heavy. I need something light and summery so I think that I feel a shopping trip coming on!!
*Smells are surer than sounds and sights to make heartstrings crack.
Rudyard Kipling
I still remember the scent of the perfume that I was wearing when G and I met. It was called White Shoulders and I'm not even sure if still even exists! But every once in a while the scent will drift past me, so someone must still have a bottle!

Buzzy Hanging Strawberry Basket

I think that I am ready to put away the steel cut oats which makes for a great winter breakfast and instead enjoy a bowl of strawberries and okay a little cereal for a nice spring and summer breakfast. And if I can grow my own, even better. I have these shepherd's hooks I think you call them for hanging baskets of flowers in the back yard. I think a basket of hanging strawberries would be just as gorgeous!!
And while I have you thinking about strawberries, just have to ask. How do you best like them served??
