Your List for Things To Be Grateful For

"If you made a list of all the things you could be thankful for, the list would undoubtedly be longer than your misfortunes."
Catherine Pulsifer

That should be true, but sadly I'm wondering if there are some people who would just shake their heads in disgust. It is getting to be a country of have and have nots.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by  in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.
Mary Jean Iron

“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”

Looking back on Thanksgiving

I was just thinking back to all of the family members who have had a spot at our table over the years. It would be so nice to be able to gather every single one of them around the table again this year!!

Ah! on Thanksgiving day....
When the care-wearied man seeks his mother once more,
And the worn matron smiles where the girl smiled before.
What moistens the lips and what brightens the eye?
What calls back the past, like the rich pumpkin pie?

John Greenleaf Whittier

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.

About Thanksgiving... Erma Bombeck Says...

Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence.

Erma Bombeck

We are in Florida this year for Thanksgiving. We just might try our hand at deep fried turkey!!

A Little Thanksgiving Humor ;)

What is sauce for the goose may be sauce for the gander but is not necessarily sauce for the chicken, the duck, the turkey or the guinea hen.

Another Thought For Thanksgiving

What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
Albert Pine

I especially like this one. It is so easy to moan about what we don't have, but who will care?
On Thanksgiving, we should take the time to consider what we can do for someone else.

A Little Bit of Humor... Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

May your stuffing be tasty. May your turkey plump. May your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious, and your pies take the prize. And may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!

Kind of ruins the day doesn't it lol! Now if we could just direct where all of those calories go!

A Funny Quote by Ted Allan

The funny thing about Thanksgiving, or any huge meal, is that you spend 12 hours shopping for it and then chopping and cooking and braising and blanching. Then it takes 20 minutes to eat it and everybody sort of sits around in a food coma, and then it takes four hours to clean it up.
