I wonder if that might account for how a retired person feels when they walk away from their job? When they have a job... any kind of job, they feel that they are contributing and are worth something. As it happens, I have a friend who is feeling kind of lost since retiring. She had such high hopes of all the fun she would have, but sadly, it's not working out that way! Now if she can just find something new to make her feel fulfilled, I think that she will be just fine. Perhaps it's the first year that is the hardest!
