Can you catch the flu from money?

We have to go shopping this afternoon and it just occurred to me. I have no idea how many people may have touched the money that is sitting in my wallet!! Kind of a scary thought! I wonder just how often I have caught the flu or a cold even... because of someone's germs on my money. Must refill the bottle of hand sanitizer that I carry in my handbag... and wash, wash and wash even more often!
