A Quote About Contentment

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.
Helen Keller

* I think that maybe its time that we sat down with a pad of paper and wrote down everything we can think of that brings us contentment. I would never have thought of silence... and there is probably so many more that we could add to our list.

Thinking about our Own Happiness

How to See Yourself As You Really AreIf people are suffering, then they must look within themselves... Happiness is not something readymade (Buddha) can give you. It comes from your own actions.
The Dalai Lama

I think what the Dalai Lama is trying to say (at least to me) is that we have to stop blaming everything and everyone for our suffering. If we are suffering, we need to find a way to bring about our own state of bliss. It always amazes me when I look at his face. He ALWAYS looks content! I feel so selfish when I think of the life that I have! I have no excuse to have a bad day... none at all.
