What is it about the 4th of July that just makes you feel so good?? Ot probably has something to do with the fact that it is pretty much at the beginning of summer. Things can only get better from here on out. Parties, trips to the beach, picnics, fireworks rates high on this day and because this year it lands on a Saturday, even better!A few Quotes to consider :)
You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck
In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved. -Franklin D. Roosevelt
If there must be trouble let it be in my day,
that my child may have peace.
--Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
“I have always been among those who believed that the greatest freedom of speech was the greatest safety, because if a man is a fool, the best thing to do is to encourage him to advertise the fact by speaking.”
Woodrow T. Wilson
And now for some picnic ideas
But before you head out on that picnic today, remember some of the safety tips to keep your family enjoying the day.-don't open the cooler any more than you have to! Everytime the lid is raised, a little more of the cold air escapes and the temperature inside begins to rise.
-invest in some of those blue freezer packs. They will keep everything cold and are more convenient than ice cubes.
-pack a first aid kit. Hopefully you won't need it, but it is nice to have it just incase!
Now onto the recipes :)
Watermelon Cake
Frosty Fireworks
Raspberry Lemonaide
Spicy Turkey Burgers
Now go and have yourself a fun day!
