German Proverbs

I don't think that I would ever have thought about German Proverbs if it wasn't for the fact that my two nieces have a German father and grandparents. I obviously know their father pretty well, but I'm curious about the generation behind them. I have only met them a couple of times but they were sweethearts! I would imagine having lived in Germany during the war, it would have shaped the kind of grandparents they were to become to some degree. And now they have a great granddaughter who they can dote on.

I wonder what chances we have let slip by because we did nothing with them?  I'm not sure that I want hind sight on this one!

So, this might be a good resolution to make come January... not missing one nut that falls from heaven!
